Debenhams’ development director, Rob Hatfield, paid a visit to Beverley last month to assess progress at East Yorkshire’s premier retail and leisure development, Flemingate.
The high street retailer will form the anchor store at the Flemingate development, occupying a 40,000sqft unit on the site which is forecast to open in late October.
Along with Debenhams, Flemingate will feature big name retailers such as H&M and Outfit, as well as cafés and restaurants, a cinema, hotel and a 500 space, multi-storey carpark, as well as the 130 new homes already finished.
Mr Hatfield described the development as one of the most exciting in the north of England.
He said: “It is fantastic to see Flemingate progress, we are really proud to be part of the development. When it opens in October it will greatly extend Beverley’s retail offering.”
Dominic Gibbons, managing director of Flemingate developer Wykeland Group, added: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to show Rob around the site. It is progressing very well so it won’t be long before the residents of Beverley will have a large, premium department store right on their doorstep for the first time.”
