Hull-based property development and investment specialist, the Wykeland Group, has appointed surveyor Tom Watson to its headquarters team.
Tom, 31, is one of several new arrivals to the group this year and will be working with Guy Evans, Wykeland’s head of development, on a number of forthcoming projects as well as assisting the in-house asset management function.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Tom came to Hull to study in 2002 and has spent the past five years working with a local commercial property agency. He said of his new appointment: “I know everyone thinks their job is the best in the world but I am genuinely excited at the prospect of joining Wykeland. “The company is very progressive and has a significant property portfolio stretching from Grimsby up to Glasgow. I am especially looking forward to working on projects such as the regeneration of the Central Dry Dock in Hull, the Flemingate scheme in Beverley and the development of the Glasshoughton site near Castleford”.
Guy Evans said: “Tom joins Wykeland at a time when several of the company’s developments are reaching a very exciting stage. For example, the plans for the Dry Dock are now moving ahead at pace while the mixed use regeneration of Flemingate continues to attract major interest from potential occupiers and we are in advanced negotiations with a number of well known retail and leisure brands”.
