Construction commences on the first building.
Hull based Paragon, previously Nekem, over the past few months has been working up plans with Wykeland for a new prestigious head office and distribution base and their joint vision is now coming to fruition as the foundations are laid. With Wykeland’s in-house architect, Graham Aitchison on hand throughout the exercise Paragon were able to utilise his years of experience to refine the building design to suit their specific business needs. Versatility and appearance were high on the list together with cost effectiveness and location, and the resulting package offered, resulted in Meltonwest and Wykeland being selected.
The 40,000 sqft facility is being constructed by local firm CR Reynolds following a tender exercise and will be completed in the autumn of this year. The building will be 12m high and will include a 3-storey office around a central atrium which will provide the impressive impact Paragon wanted to achieve. The company which assembles and distributes glass bottles required a capping and production line but also height for storage and with Graham working closely with Paragon’s team including their racking specialists was able to provide an optimal solution.
Wykeland will develop and project-manage the construction right through to completion and delivery of the final building to Paragon.
