Housebuilder Beal Homes is now pressing ahead with work to construct a new £1.5 million head office and customer selection centre at the Bridgehead Business Park, Hessle, which is being developed by the Wykeland Group, following a groundbreaking on April 17.
Beal Homes’ construction team, which will build the new 11,000 square foot headquarters, moved onto site this week with work expected to be complete for the company’s head office team to be in place for the start of 2014.
2013 is proving to be something of a successful landmark year for the housebuilder. Not only is Beal Homes making this investment in a new head office, it is also celebrating 45 years of building new homes and has achieved a strong first quarter having already sold 75 of the 130 homes the company aims to build this year.
In a prime frontage position at the Bridgehead Business Park, Beal Homes’ new head office will include a new customer selection centre, which will occupy much of the ground floor area. Close to the Humber Bridge, A63/M62 and A164 to Beverley, Beal Homes’ new location will place the office and customer selection centre more centrally, and more conveniently for homebuyers, within the housebuilder’s operating area.
“Our new headquarters will provide the additional office space we need for our growing head office team and allow us to extend our innovative customer selection centre, which, since we introduced the idea at our current offices, has helped to differentiate Beal Homes from competitors. Our aim is to provide the perfect environment for every Beal Homes’ purchaser to design their new home to their requirements,” explained Richard Beal, chairman and managing director of Beal Homes.
Beal Homes employs around 100 people in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with a head office team of 35, all of whom have agreed to move with the company to Hessle. Close to Hull’s ports terminals Beal Homes’ current East Yorkshire head office site on Hedon Road is already attracting interest from the renewables sector, says Richard Beal.
Beal Homes will employ a full time construction team of around 12 at the new Bridgehead Business Park site during the coming months and, in line with its long term on-going commitment to supporting the local business community, Beal Homes will be awarding specialist contracts to suppliers and contractors in the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region.
In keeping with the Wykeland Group’s ethos for Bridgehead, Beal Homes head office will incorporate renewable energy features, Beal’s car park will include a plug-in point for electric vehicles and cycle racks and the business park will be served by bus.
Dominic Gibbons, managing director of the Wykeland Group, joined Richard Beal to ‘break the ground’ for the new headquarters, he said: “Beal Homes is a well known and highly successful local business, and it is a testament to the quality and strategy position of Bridgehead that they have chosen the development as the location for their new base.
“Today’s ground breaking session marks the beginning of work on Beal Homes’ ambitious head office on Bridgehead; a building specifically designed to help facilitate the company’s ongoing growth and success.”
Family-owned and operated Beal Homes builds new homes in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with locations including Kingswood Parks in Hull, Willerby, Walkington, Nafferton and the Burton Waters Marina near Lincoln. The housebuilder expects a £23 million turnover in the current year and is set to reveal plans for new developments to start at locations including a new development at Kingswood Parks, Hull, Welton in East Yorkshire and at Wragby, Gainsborough and Waddington in Lincolnshire.
