Development of the latest phase of North East Lincolnshire’s flagship Business Park – Europarc – is well underway as interest levels from would-be occupiers continue to be high.
The first element of the new Europarc Village has just been completed – Beechwood Farm is a Farmhouse Inns pub for the Greene King chain and has created 80 new jobs.
Europarc is owned by the Hull-based property specialist, the Wykeland Group, who this week reported continuing high levels of interest in the development, especially from other leisure operators.
Since its launch in 2000, Europarc has become the hub for new investment and job creation in North East Lincolnshire and is ‘home’ to around 2,000 jobs. This latest phase involves an additional 6.5 acres adjacent to the main approach road and has benefitted from a loan of £500,000 from the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership to help pay for infrastructure costs to enable the land to be opened out for development.
Peter Hebblethwaite, Farmhouse Inns business unit director, said the new pub-restaurant would complement other new arrivals at Europarc.
Grant Edmondson, Wykeland’s Head of Asset Management, said: “This part of Europarc also has planning permission for a hotel, nursery, gym and commercial and retail units and we have been delighted with the level of interest shown by potential occupiers.
“Part of the Europarc masterplan is to create a village-style centre that will offer all the services and facilities that are needed to attract more inward investors as well as indigenous companies with potential for growth and job creation”.
Planning permission is also in place for the remaining 45 acres of Europarc for a mixture of manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities.
