Lincoln’s revitalised Waterside centre has secured luxury home and body brand Rituals as its latest attraction.
Rituals will open a stylish new store at Waterside, adding its renowned range of luxurious body and homecare products to the centre’s vibrant retail and leisure offering.
It means Lincoln will join Rituals’ nationwide line-up of boutique-style stores, which features locations such as Oxford Street, Covent Garden and High Street, Kensington, in London, and upmarket cities such as York, Cambridge and Edinburgh.
The news that Rituals is joining Waterside aligns with the centre’s ongoing development as a key retail and leisure destination in Lincoln, enhancing its appeal to both local shoppers and visitors to the city.
It comes as Waterside’s joint venture owners, Wykeland Group and Lincolnshire Co-op, continue to deliver a sustained investment programme into the centre, including creating a more open and attractive frontage from High Street and implementing aesthetic improvements along the picturesque River Witham.
This summer also saw the development of a new, high-quality coffee shop, operated by independent Lincolnshire-based business Seven Districts Coffee, in the heart of the centre.
David Donkin, Property Director of leading property development and investment business Wykeland, said: “We’re delighted to announce Rituals as the latest addition to Waterside.
“Rituals is a highly aspirational brand with destination stores drawing shoppers to the towns, cities and centres where they are located.
“That means having a Rituals store at Waterside will be great for Lincoln, for shoppers in and around the city, or visiting from further afield, and for all the other businesses within the centre.
“Securing such a high-calibre brand is a powerful demonstration of the Waterside centre’s appeal as a retail and leisure destination, especially as we make substantial investments to enhance the visitor experience.”
Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head of Property, Kevin Kendall, said: “Rituals will be a welcome addition to Waterside centre and give shoppers and visitors to the city another reason to visit, alongside our packed events programme and the wide variety of retailers we already offer.
“The new frontage will also benefit the local street scene and much improve the views from both High Street and Waterside South.”
Rituals has signed a long-term lease for 1,200 sq ft of retail space with an additional 970 sq ft for stock and storage.
Work has started on the landlord’s works, with work to fit out the new Rituals store following in March 2025 and the opening expected the following month.
The adjoining store, occupied by Accessorize, will close during the landlord’s works but will also reopen around April 2025, once the landlord’s works and tenant refresh have been completed.
Founded in Amsterdam in 2000, Rituals is now established in over 40 countries, with more than 1,300 stores and 3,900 shop-in-shops.
