Planning Application submitted for one of the East Ridings biggest buildings of the year.
Wykeland has recently submitted a planning application for one of the region’s largest distribution facilities on behalf of Hull based Heron Foods.
Meltonwest was one of several alternative sites and the package put together by Wykeland was the preferred option for Heron to the delight of Wykeland Chairman Jack Brignall, “This is a significant step forward for a leading local company whose roots are firmly in the area and we are delighted Heron Foods has chosen Meltonwest as it’s new home”.
Established in Hull in the 1970’s as Heron Frozen Foods, it has evolved in to a retail business trading from 140 stores across the North and Midlands and is now known as Heron Foods and has over 1,100 employees nationally. The application is for a 267,000 sqft chilled frozen and ambient distribution and storage facility, and HQ on a 16 acre plot. The new distribution facility will provide a platform for growth of the company, leading to increased job opportunities in Hull and the East Riding.
