As a business we are very supportive to the Mayoral Devolution deal announced as part of the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement on 22nd November 2023. Along with the wider regional business community, we have been asking for the 2 local councils, Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to work collaboratively to work with Government to create a Mayoral Devolution Deal.
Under the proposed deal, the region will gain control of funding to spend and deliver on local priorities and powers for local decision-making in Hull and East Yorkshire.
This will include £400million of additional Government funding to help support economic growth.
A consultation is now live to gather views from the public and other interested groups on the proposed deal and how it will be implemented.
Devolution could bring about a number of changes in Hull and East Yorkshire, so it is important for you to have your say.
