Street art-styled salon turns heads at Flemingate

An on-trend salon has quickly become the go-to place for beauty in Beverley after opening at the Flemingate centre.

Vintage & Co is one of the largest salons in Hull and the East Riding and brings barber shop services, hairdressing and beauty treatments together under one roof in seriously stylish surroundings.

The Insta-worthy salon comes complete with a coffee bar and a green “selfie wall”, with bright pink angel wings for customers to capture their cut or colour on camera.

The talented Vintage & Co team at Flemingate has almost 150 years of combined experience in the hair and beauty industry, with several having worked nationally and internationally, winning awards and honing their craft at award-winning salons.

The salon is already fully booked until the end of May with further pre-booked and walk-in appointments being taken as the team continues to grow.

Vintage & Co is the second hair and beauty salon opened by hairdresser and barber Lee Carmichael following a successful opening in Hull’s St Stephen’s Shopping Centre last year.

Lee, who is supported by business partners Tom Pearson and Jack Hardcastle and whose domestic partner, Amelia Humphrey, is the Salon Manager, said: “We’ve had a brilliant response since we opened and so many people have walked in to find out more and book appointments. I couldn’t be happier.

“Our Beverley salon is double the size of our St Stephen’s base and it was all hands on deck to open as lockdown restrictions eased.

“Flemingate has a brilliant vibe and the footfall is excellent. It’s great to see people sitting outside coffee bars and enjoying some normality, and for us to be part of that.”

“Customers are loving the style of the salon. It brings a really inspirational and creative focus to the salon scene.

“There is a huge demand for what we offer. We have everything under one roof for men and women, all offered in comfortable surroundings with a chilled-out vibe and reasonable prices.”
